About

Sukyong Chun is a board-certified registered nurse who works as an acute care nurse. She began her nursing career in 2014 at Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple as an overflow unit staff nurse taking care of high acuity patients. After over one year of experience, she moved onto Round Rock Baylor Scott & White Hospital in 2015 to a Medical Surgical unit specializing in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. With the evolution of the unit and the chaos of the 2020 PANDEMIC, her unit takes care of COVID positive patients, step down ICU telemetry patients, and Med-Surg patients.

While working, she served as an acute care representative for the preparation committee of the Diabetes Center of Excellence for over a year. She also served as a hospital-wise mobility initiative champion. She loves to teach new graduate nurses and nursing students. While serving as a clinical coach for the unit, she also worked as a capstone preceptor for the Second Degree Nursing program at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Austin for two years.

Sukyong Chun’s degrees include: BS in Statistics (Sungshin Women’s University in South Korea); ADN (Austin Community College); BSN (Texas A&M University Health Science Center); and she is expected to graduate in May of 2021 as an MSN, APRN, FNP (Texas A&M University Health Science Center).

Through her professional experience as an acute care nurse and MSN prepared future family nurse practitioner (FNP), Sukyong Chun is dedicated to empowering patients of all generations through education, informed decision making, and a continuum of care throughout the lifespan in the primary care.
