About

My name is Sulekha Abdulle and I'm originally from Somalia. I am currently residing in state of Maine. Education is my first priority. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a social worker. I always wanted to make people's lives different and make it better. One of my biggest dreams is to help my community and support them to get services and resources they need. In high school and in college, I volunteered for the Maine Hunger Dialogue, and Maine Immigrants and Refugee Services where I supported the homeless and refugee people. I also did fundraising and interpreting for the Somali elder people, and volunteering for the Somali community in Lewiston. I learned that to reach my goals, I must complete a four-year college degree in order for me to become a licensed social worker. I am very excited about my future and felt that with the help of TRIO involvement that I would achieve those goals.
