Susana Perez

I am currently a student at Texas A&M University in Commerce, TX. At this time I am graduate student of the masters level social work program. My plan is to graduate in December of 2016. I was born in Zacatecas Mexico and move to the United States at the age of three. Since that time I have lived in Pittsburg, TX where I graduated from high school in 2008. I am a fist-generation college student and the only one out of my family to have an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree. I received my Associates of Science degree on December 2013 for Northeast Texas Community College and recently graduated with my bachelors on December 2015. Both of my parent have a middle school grade education and have worked all their lives in agriculture. They have installed in me a passion to help others and to pursue a higher education. I majored in social work because I feel it is a career which encompasses values which I feel strongly about. I hope to be a change agent in the world and become an advocate for those who are unable to speak for themselves.
