Sydney Offerdahl

I want to get involved with animals since I have always loved them. I will either be a Veterinarian or I will work in a zoo. I have been getting into shows on Animal Planet and National Geographic Wild that are basically the behind the scenes look of what happens in the zoos, aquariums, and veterinarian clinics. I enjoy watching them and learning something new. I also have been getting into artwork in the digital world and want to improve my techniques in college. If I were to go to college and have an unlimited pick of majors, I would pick a lot. I have been getting more interested in Mass Communications, Culinary, Astronomy, Zoology, and some more. I am really adventurous when it comes to new things.

I am going to South Dakota State University and plan to pursue Animal Sciences and minor in Graphic Design. My parents are alumni from there and my sister currently goes there. I know that when I toured there when my sisters was looking at colleges, it just felt like home and I look forward to staying on campus this year after I have graduated high school. I don't know if I will go into Graduate studies to pursue veterinary or if I will work at a zoo by the end of my 4 years there. I will probably internship at a zoo for a while and see if it is worthwhile, but it does look very good for me.

I like to watch TV and movies and imerse myself in the story. I am very good at forshadowing what is going to happening, even when I haven't even watched it before. That is also why I am interested in Graphic Design because of the way they showcase their art for other people to see, like the posters and the logos you see. I also like to go over to my neighbors house to see her animals that she has and visit them while she is off at work. I especially like her horses and minihorses, they are so sweet and kind. I also like to play games on the Xbox or PC if there is nothing else to do. For 8 years, I really enjoyed swimming, but ever since high school it has become less fun and I decided to quit during Senior year since I want to focus on my studies and graduate.
