About

My name is Tanya Morales and I am a student working toward my bachelor degree in education. My journey back to school means a lot to me because it shows my family, my students, and even myself that it is never too late to grow and reach new goals. I earned my GED after leaving school in the eleventh grade, later completed my associate degree in criminal justice, and now I am continuing my education so I can become a certified teacher.
I have worked in the Behavioral Support Services program for many years, supporting students with behavioral and learning challenges. This work has shaped who I am. I understand how fear, frustration, or confusion can show up in a student’s behavior, and I believe every student deserves patience, understanding, and someone who truly sees them. Helping overlooked or misunderstood students is not just something I do. It is something I care deeply about.
Going to college is helping me grow in the field I love. I bring real experience from the classroom, and I want to keep learning so I can better support students and eventually lead my own classroom. Education has become my purpose and I am proud of the path I am building.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My goal is to become a certified teacher working with students who have behavioral and learning challenges. I have spent many years in the Behavioral Support Services program, and this work has shown me how important it is for students to have someone who understands them and believes in their potential. I want to continue working in special education because I care deeply about helping students who are often overlooked or misunderstood. My plan is to finish my bachelor degree in education and move into a teaching role where I can create a safe, supportive, and respectful classroom. I want to guide students, build strong connections, and help them feel confident in who they are and what they can achieve.
