About

I am a current high school senior at Freeport High School in Illinois. I am a member of our school's NHS program, as well as our NJROTC program. I am our NJROTC unit's current Commanding Officer, meaning I run our staff and make sure we complete any necessary deadlines or projects.
I am also a College NOW student, meaning I am in dual-enrollment. I take my primary classes at Highland Community College, so I will be graduating with my Associate of Art in May, as well as my diploma.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I will be joining the United States Marine Corps upon graduation from a 4-year university. I will be earning my commission by attending Officer Candidate School (or OCS) over the summer between my spring and fall semesters. From there, I am looking into flying fighter jets or fixed-wing aircrafts as my main focus.

Graduate school interests

I have been accepted to Norwich University in Northfield, VT. I will be attending in Fall of 2026 as a member of their Corps of Cadets in their NROTC - Marine Corps program. Once I graduate I will commission in the Marine Corps as an officer.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy reading, especially thrillers, true crime, British literature, American literature, or historical fiction. I also enjoy putting together ROKR wooden kits, wooden, or 3D puzzles, since I find them relaxing. I also enjoy long-distance runs and exercising. Most of my other hobbies relate to my participation in NJROTC, such as drill, color guard, or air rifle marksmanship, which I spend most of my weekends competing in.

Volunteering

  • I am a member of my high school's National Honor Society as of March 2024. I have completed various service projects with our organization. This typically includes planning school events, such as homecoming or sporting events. We typically help around our community to complete our regulated 2 hours per semester requirement. These are rather flexible for members, since we all have busy schedules between sports, theater, music, or other programs. So, typically these events are spread out across multiple days, weeks, or sometimes even a month or so.

    Mar 2024 – May 2026

  • Our unit typically participates in over 1,400 hours of community service in a 12-month period. I myself complete around 100 hours alone during this time, both within NJROTC and NHS. These events vary from veteran-related events, color guards, parades, trash clean-ups, community event set-ups, etc.
