Tera Johnson-Swartz

Tera Johnson-Swartz was born and raised in the Midwest (Bloomington-[ab]Normal), but believes she lost her city-virginity in Boston when she attended Berklee College of Music. Upon graduation, she trekked cross-country to Los Angeles where she tortured herself for nearly a decade in the music industry. Then, on a whim, she found a more flexible career in health and wellness (massage, doula, childbirth & lactation educator, fitness trainer). After a brief one-year stint in Nashville (due to her husband's work), she and her husband finally moved their little family to Colorado where they now live happily in the suburbs of Denver. Tera has most recently taken on the role as teacher of high school English. Sometimes she’s caught daydreams of traveling, broadening her culinary palate, and being a better extrovert. She loves her husband, three children, and two dogs, but often wonders what peace and quiet might be like. When she’s not writing, grading papers, gardening, or fantasizing about rubbing elbows with her author-crushes, she’s chatting with her online critique partners, hoping to one day repay them for all their free therapy.
