Teresa Stephens

I am currently a Psychology major and Organizational Leadership minor student attending Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FL. I am studying to become a Mental Health Counselor with the Department of Veteran Affairs. I am a war veteran whom have suffered form Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I would like to be in a position to help my fellow veterans by offering them better choices for treatment and helping them to reestablish roles within their families and society. I currently volunteer with 211 of West Palm Beach as a counselor on the suicide prevention hotline. 211 is a non-profit agency that provides a team of specially trained staff to assist callers through its 211 Helpline with crisis intervention, suicide prevention, information, assessment and referral to community services.
