Goals and interests
- Career goal
Inspired by my own concussion and the frustrating recovery that followed, I want to design sports safety equipment that allows athletes to remain on the field and not in trainer's room. I would love to work for any company such as Wilson, Riddell, or Spaulding. Maybe in the future I would also be able to set up my own testing facility to standardize the testing and proficiency of baseball helmets, similar to the football helmet testing facility at the University of North Carolina's biomedical engineering school.
- Graduate school interests
I plan on pursuing a masters degree in biomechanics and biomaterials and my top choices would be the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of Iowa.
- Outside the classroom
I am an avid golfer who played collegiately for one year at Iowa Central Community College before my graduation. I also enjoy my time with my 3 dogs, Hawkeye, Dodger, and Lucy.
