Tigst Abate

I am currently pursuing a degree in Nursing at Cincinnati State, where I have maintained strong academic standing while balancing a rigorous course load and part-time employment. As a freshman, I’ve demonstrated commitment to my studies through consistent class attendance, active participation, and a focus on mastering core subjects such as biology and anatomy. I am also preparing to take the TEAS exam as part of my pathway into a competitive nursing program.
Professionally, I hold a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) license, which has provided me with a strong foundation in patient care and hands-on experience in the healthcare field. I have also gained valuable experience working in a dental office and currently serve as a student worker in the International and Veteran Office on campus. These roles have strengthened my communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, especially when supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
On a personal level, I take pride in being disciplined, goal-oriented, and adaptable. I’ve learned to manage my time efficiently to accommodate work, studies, and self-improvement. My learning style is primarily kinesthetic and read/write, which I’ve leveraged to develop effective study habits and academic strategies.
I am proud to be a member of the Honor Society, having earned my membership through academic merit and dedication. Being part of this organization has allowed me to connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about leadership and achievement. I am honored to be considered for this scholarship and am excited about the opportunities it may help unlock in my journey toward becoming a compassionate and skilled nurse.
