About
Hi, my name is Tina and I am currently an international student in the USA. About one year ago I got the amazing opportunity to study at a Community College. As a foreigner, studying in the US is an amazing opportunity but also so much more expensive. With help from family and friends I was able to make it work and attend a Community College. I am very proud of my current 4.0 GPA after 2 semester in the Graphic Design Program.
Within Graphic Design there are so many ways to express your self and tell your story, but my dream is to help others to tell their stories and help them one step closer to their dream. By doing what I love and what I am passionate about I can make a difference in the world, I can help to educate, inform or entertain with my work.
When I first started University in Germany, I wanted to be a teacher. I still love the job as a teacher but there were so many obstacles you have to overcome to be able to teach every kid the way they need it, that I just lost my passion about teaching. By the end the job was more about the paperwork than educating the kids, which made me fell like I can not give the kids what they need to be successful in school and life. During my studies I always worked as a coach for several sports clubs, guided and supported kids and teenagers to find their own way through life. I am still very passionate about education and I hope I can make a difference one day by putting my graphic design work out there to help others educate the younger generation.
When I came to the US in 2020 as an AuPair I was blown away by the opportunities this country has to offer. I needed a break to find myself and find the right path for me, which I did. That is why I am so happy to finally be able to bring all my creativity into a job that I am truly passionate about.
You should think that a 4.0 GPA is enough to get at least some Scholarships to continue the education and get a bachelor's degree, but being an international student excludes me from many scholarships.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
When I am done with my studies I would like to first get a normal graphic design job to get more work experience in this field. But my end goal would be the job as a design director, to be able to help other thrive in an environment where they can be their best self and put work out there which they are passionate about. I always thought of opening up my own company and if it is possible I would love to end my career with my own successful company.
- Graduate school interests
Currently I have to find schools to finish my undergrad after my Associates degree. I would love to attend SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) to finish my bachelor's, which is an amazing school but also very expensive.
For a grad school I am interested in Yale, I mean who is not? But first I have to find a way to finance the rest of my bachelor's to even think about a Master degree.- Outside the classroom
As a teenager and young adult I was very active.
I played soccer from 3y old to 18y old, which I loved. The team i played in was like a family and we supported each other. I was also team captain for almost 3 years (15y-18y). Unlikely I had to stop playing when I moved to study teaching.
I am very creative and trying everything at least once. I love to draw but unfortunately I do not have enough time to draw on a regularly basis. As a kid and teenager I worked with my grandpa on bird houses and nativity scenes, which he sold for over $600 a piece.
Lately I got into photography and filming, which opened up my perspective on things. I now walk through the world and see so many details that I just walked by earlier. It makes me appreciate the world we are living in more and more.
Another hobby of mine is traveling and exploring new places, which comes in handy with my love to photography and capturing memories.
