About
Hi my name is Tirza Panunto! I am 17 years old and am a homeschooler in the process of applying to different colleges. It is my dream to dance professionally one day which is why I am applying to colleges with dance or ballet programs. Majoring in dance will allow me to work on refining my technique and improving my artistry and performance quality. I am currently into my second year as a trainee with a professional ballet company. This program has given me the opportunity to work on my technique as well as other valuable skills in dance such as picking up choreography and learning how to understudy a role.
Aside from dance I am also very interested in biology and the environment which is why I would like to double major in either biological sciences or environmental studies in college. This will allow me the opportunity to learn more about nature and the systems that work together to keep ecosystems up and running.

For many years it has been my dream to become a professional ballet dancer. After the pandemic hit, I knew my options in dance would become limited as many companies had to cancel their seasons, and dancers were unable to be paid in other companies. Instead of auditioning for a job in dance, I have decided to go to a college with a dance program and focus on refining my technique, discovering more of my artistry, and learning more about dance as a whole through classes such as anatomy and ballet history. After college my hope is to get a job as a professional dancer.
