Tom Robinson

In the future, I hope to pursue a career in an engaging field that requires imagination and creativity. Foreign affairs has been something that interests me for many years. Having the opportunity to work abroad would be an invaluable experience that I hope one day I am able to do.

After completing my undergraduate degree in American Studies at the University of Sussex in England, I hope to return to the United States to complete a masters at UCLA or another prestigious university; finances allowing. I am looking at graduate programs in the political science and history fields but am currently exploring a variety of opportunities.

I enjoy reading, especially modern American literature such as Jack Kerouac or historical dramatisations. I also really enjoy films, ranging from the 60s to the present day. Films by David Fincher, Wes Anderson, and Noah Baumbach have been particularly influential for me. Soundtracks play an important role in all these director's films influencing my taste in music. Being British, I am often listening to punk and indie music but also enjoy reggae and soul music. My interest in music has also had a big influence on my fashion. The mod culture of the 1960s and the vintage clothes of the 1970s really fascinate me. I am currently learning how to make my own clothes as a result of this!
