About

Hello, my name is Tosha Stoneburner. I am inspired by my mother who is a nurse. I saw how she took care of people, and they respected her for it. Also I grew up with a terminally ill brother. He developed Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This is a cancer that affects your lymph-nodes. Your lymph-nodes develop your white blood cells that fight off infections, this means even the common cold could take him away from us. The personnel who helped us take care of us were life changing a inspirational. I wanted to take that a step further. I want to change peoples lives and be remembered. So I gave it some thought and, being a Trauma Surgeon would be a perfect fit. I could help people who are in horrible accidents and forever change their lives. When I turned fifteen my life changed. I was going to become a mother. I was terrified! I had no clue how I was going to take care of a child when I was just a child myself. I was a single mother. I had to get job. I got a job after school working at McDonald's. It has been a great experience; helping me with customer service and working fast but accurate. The most important thing they taught me there was the safety that was involved in running a fast food restaurant. You have to be aware of safe food temperatures and possible contamination. The store has to be clean so they are not any rodents or bugs in the vicinity. Also things must be organized and clean so no one working there gets hurt; like slipping on a wet floor. I am currently on my way to becoming a manager. While working and taking care of a child, I graduated High School a year early. I was invited into the honor society during High School but I was on maternity leave and missed the opportunity. When I graduated I received special recognition for having a GPA higher than a 3.5, I received a 3.856. I then took my ACT and got a composite score of 27. That fall I started College at Ohio University Zanesville. I have completed Anatomy One, Chemistry one, Survey to Calculus, English One, Nutrition, Psychology, Communications, and Seeing and Knowing the Visual Arts. My current GPA is at a 3.4. I plan on getting a Microbiology Major, being employed in a hospital as a Lab Technician. Then going to The Ohio State Medical School to get a surgical degree and work in a hospital as a Trauma Surgeon.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I plan to pursue a Microbiology major and work as a lab technician in a hospital setting. I will also get my basic EMT and CPR and volunteer at the local Fire Department. Then, I want to continue my schooling further by attending medical school at The Ohio State's Medical School, where I want to become a Trauma Surgeon.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy fishing, hunting, and farming. I really enjoy to learn. I often work in my dad's garage; trying to figure out how everything fits together that makes a vehicle run. Often I will spend time in my friends wood shop creating cool designs in the wood, like deer heads.
