About
I currently work at George Washington University on a specialized unit, Neurology/Orthopedic unit. I have been a member of the organization since July 2012. I am trained in stroke comprehensive care, epilepsy, traumatic and non traumatic brain injury, along with orthopedic care. I have been a member of the Shared Governance Council-Education and Communication Council since November 2014 and promoted to Council Secretary in April of 2015. Since being on the council I have participated in staff education on different units, I have taught the Joint Camp Class for patients receiving orthopedic surgery, I have moderated Nursing Grand Rounds -The Gift of Life: Organ Donation, participated on the unit-base committee Skin Care (surveillance of patients in hospital for pressure ulcers and give nursing staff education on how to prevent such occurrences), and also participated in teaching activities for Education Carnival in Summer of 2015 on blood transfusion. Teaching is my passion and I enjoy it very much.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
After attaining my MSN in nursing education, I intend to use my to degree to be a change agent in my community. I am interested in public health and community nursing. I believe change is more effective when doing work in the community for those in need. You get to meet people where they are in their current situation. Based on this notion, the change agent along with the client can develop a plan that is more individualized to cater to their needs. I am interested in working with and developing programs geared towards helping pregnant teens and the fathers to be. I would also like to be an education instructor in the school setting and the clinical setting. I have an intense passion for learning and teaching and feel my talents will better transcend to those new and upcoming nurses.. I also have a passion for rehabilitation care. After attaining my MSN-ED degree, I intend on going back to school to get my doctorate of physical therapy (DPT) degree. I worked in rehabilitation for 6 years and developed a passion for the discipline.
