About
I am a chemical engineering undergraduate at Washington State University, with a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from Whitworth University. I am also a lab assistant in radiochemistry for Dr. Paul Benny; who is actively researching new techniques and compounds utilizing radioactive nuclides for diagnostic and therapeutic applications in nuclear medicine. When I complete my undergraduate degree in chemical engineering I plan to pursue a PhD. in inorganic chemistry for the purpose of R&D in radio-pharmaceuticals.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I intended to pursue a PhD. in inorganic chemistry so that I can perform research and development work in radoopharmaceuticals. I find myself mainly interested in the development of new radioactive nuclides. I also intend to pursue research techniques in spectroscopic analysis. I plan to use these skills in a research and development lab for a pharmaceutical company like DuPont.
- Graduate school interests
I plan to pursue a PhD. in inorganic chemistry. I am interested in inorganic chemistry for the purpose of nuclear medicine, namely cancer imaging. I hope to find a program that I can also learn specialized techniques in spectroscopic analysis.
- Outside the classroom
I have many hobbies that occupy my time outside of academics. For instance, I am a past marathon runner and have always found running to be a passion outside of academics. I am also an avid photographer and enjoy taking hikes to capture the perfect photograph. I have been known to take the same hike for up to a week to capture a scene at just the right time. I also have indoor interests like cooking. I consider cooking to be like practicing lab techniques. Chemistry in my opinion is not too different from cooking and my love for chemistry carries into my love for cooking. I am not afraid to try anything once, as long as it is vegetarian.
