Goals and interests

Career goal

My plan is to go into medicine to become a physician-scientist in the field of neurogastroenterology. In order to do this, I must attain an MD degree as well as a PhD. I plan contribute research to the medical field, so that cures to life's most complex diseases and disorders may be available one day. I believe that a Bachelor's degree in philosophy will provide me with the critical thinking skills necessary to become an effective physician-scientist in the future.

Graduate school interests

I am planning on attending medical school a year after I finish my undergraduate studies. I will pursue the MD/PhD program offered at many medical schools. Although this program will extend my medical school experience for at least an additional 3 years, it is a sacrifice I am willing to make to achieve my goals.

Outside the classroom

I love the performing arts, especially theatre. I enjoy cheering, playing softball, polynesian dancing, modeling, and singing/musical theatre. In my spare time, I enjoy reading novels, cooking, and listening to music as well. I also love outdoor activites, such as going to the beach and amusement parks.
