About

I am a dedicated and compassionate nursing student currently pursuing my Associate Degree in Nursing at the University of Charleston, with an expected graduation date of May 2026. As a nurse extern in a critical care unit, I gain hands-on experience caring for patients with complex needs while continuously developing my clinical skills. A former coal miner who faced injury, I am committed to bettering myself by building a long-term career in healthcare. I am actively involved in community service, including flood relief efforts in West Virginia and volunteering with the American Red Cross during blood donation drives. These experiences have strengthened my resilience, empathy, and dedication to serving others, both in my professional and personal life.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am currently seeking an associate degree in nursing, but I plan to further my education beyond an associate degree. I will walk the steps to a BSN shortly after I achieve my ADN. Then after my critical care experience I plan to obtain the NP or CRNA title.

Outside the classroom

In my spare time I enjoy spending quality time with my family, golfing, and hunting.
