About

I am currently attending John Tyler Community College to complete pre-requisite courses required for entry into the Radiologic Technology Program at St. Mary's Hospital School of Medical Imaging. I am a wife, a full-time restaurant manager/server/bartender, and an adult student. I was the first in my family to attend college. I've always been interested in Biotechnology, for which I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Silpakorn University, in Thailand. I enjoy learning new skills and interacting with and taking care of people. Education is very important to me and, I believe that education enriches us and helps us become better citizens. I hope to change my career path to a medical field that would allow me to pursue my passion, a career that I will enjoy and excel at rest of my life. I look forward to the day when I have an important role in helping people overcome illnesses and helping patients smile again. I have managed my study time while working full-time to help pay for school. However, this will now be more difficult when I become a full-time student at St. Mary's. Despite the fact that changing my career paths this late in life is frightening, I am still confident that I can do it. From being a child growing up without parents, to moving to the United State to improve my English skills without knowing anyone, to starting my career as an immigrant on my own--I have defeated many difficult circumstances in life and intend to continue to do so in the future.
