About
My name is Valeria Barrera and I am studying nursing. I Grew up in Pico Rivera, California which I then moved to Whittier, California. As of right now I am attending Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona and volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital escorting patients. I have a passion for working with others and helping as much as I can. I chose to study nursing because I want to be able to help save people's lives and make a difference. I am the fisrt person in my family to attend a University and I strive to make something of myself.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
After I graduate from school I would like to work at a hospital for a few years. After working for a few years I want to work for the FBI traveling around the world on missions. After doing that I want to end up working for Kaiser before I retire.

After the nursing BSN program I would like to go to school to obtain my masters to become a nurse practitioner.
- Outside the classroom
I have many things that I love to do on my free time. My hobbies include: reading, singing, dancing, various sports, playing the piano, and volunteering at food pantries and at the hospital.
