About

Hello, My name is Valerie Flynn and I am currently seeking to finish my bachelor's degree and should be graduating this spring. I am trying to apply to graduate schools of my choice to further my education with a Master's in Counseling. I really love working with people of all ages and types and I am intrigued by the human mind and our emotions and how we think and make choices every day. My goal is to help society become a better place and be that person people can trust to help them through life's hardest times and be a confidant for others that may not have that in their current lifestyle. I want to reach out to those in need of assistance and try my best to use my professional knowledge and common sense to help others take my advice or suggestions and help them apply it to better their lives in return. Humans are a species that need to have someone in life to help them stay sane and feel cared about each day. I feel that whether it is in a profession or as a friend or loved one we should all contribute to encouraging people in our life to want to do better no matter what their circumstances may be.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I plan on becoming a Family and Children's Counselor with an emphasis on working with people who have been through any traumatic experience.

Graduate school interests

I am currently interested in applying to Missouri State, Evangel University, and Grand Canyon University.

Outside the classroom

I love being involved with my club at Missouri State, Ichthus; which is a christian ministry and we always meet every week for bible study and have worship nights every week and also plan outside activities such as going on day trips or going out to eat as a group or having fun girls nights with the girl ministry house called the Shack, and the guy ministry group is called the Ranch.
I also really enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends every chance that I get whether it is during the week days or weekend. I value that time since I am so busy with work and school full time. I also enjoy going hiking and camping and going on road trips with friends and family. I love being in the outdoors because it is therapeutic and it restores my soul in being able to embrace all the beautiful things that nature has to offer us that we take for granted sometimes.
