Retail Associate at In the beginning of my time at Big Lots I was a cashier. While cashiering I of course handled money, greeted and treated customers as friends. I also kept the area I was working in organized (the isles nearby me), cleaned the counters, and windows, swept and mopped the floor. While cashiering, I also multitasked by assisting customers on the phone while completing tasks my coworkers asked me to do on the walkie talkies, maintaining a sufficient amount of carts in the store, all while cashiering. Another key component while cashiering was selling customers “rewards cards'' which required me to use rhetoric or sales tactis on customers. My last couple of months at Big Lots was mainly me unloading trucks and stocking the product on the floor in a professional manner. I also assisted and on multiple occasions made furniture sales, and used the equipment in our wearhouse to load up mattresses, loveseats, dressers, etc to the customers' cars. I was pretty much the “all around guy” at Big Lots and had no problem changing and completing multiple tasks throughout the workday. My coworkers would describe me as a very agreeable, friendly, and respectful colleague. Only reason why I departed from Big Lots was because I got accepted to UCF last Spring.
