Goals and interests

Career goal

Sports coach for baseball, swimming, and other athletics.

Outside the classroom

My leisure pursuits are emblematic of a holistic and intentional approach to life, where intellectual curiosity, culinary exploration, and a deep connection to nature converge to shape a well-rounded and enriching lifestyle.

At the heart of my recreational endeavors lies a profound love for reading, extending far beyond the realm of mere enjoyment. My commitment to constant learning is encapsulated in the guiding motto that "the day we stop learning is the day we start dying." This principle underscores my belief in the transformative power of knowledge and the continual pursuit of intellectual growth. In addition to honing my expertise in my professional field, I actively extend my inquiries into diverse realms, including psychology, holistic medicine, strength and conditioning, as well as nutrition and supplementation. This multidisciplinary approach not only broadens my understanding but also fosters a comprehensive perspective on health and well-being.

Culinary exploration serves as both a creative outlet and a means of cultural appreciation. My love for cooking is a dynamic journey of skill enhancement and flavor experimentation. Actively seeking to diversify my culinary repertoire, I dedicate one night each week to international cuisine, celebrating the richness of different cultures through the art of gastronomy. This intentional exploration not only stimulates my palate but also serves as a bridge to connect with global traditions and foster a deeper appreciation for the cultural diversity that enriches our world.

Nature, for me, is not just a setting but a sanctuary. Hiking, with its immersive quality, allows me to escape into the breathtaking beauty of natural landscapes. Having grown up in South Africa, surrounded by diverse ecosystems, I carry with me a profound appreciation for the preciousness of life in every aspect of the natural world. This connection to nature serves as a grounding force, providing not only physical rejuvenation but also a constant reminder of the interconnectedness and fragility of life.

In essence, my hobbies form a tapestry of intentional living—each thread representing a facet of my commitment to continuous learning, cultural appreciation, and a harmonious relationship with the natural world. These pursuits not only contribute to personal fulfillment but also inform and enrich my professional endeavors, shaping a perspective that values holistic well-being and the interconnectedness of the diverse elements that make life truly meaningful.
