About
I come from a family of teachers and coaches. I fought with the generational pull of becoming a teacher myself and instead earned a B. A. in Communications- Journalism from the Univeristy of Houston. Because I married a teacher/ coach, I went back to school within a year of my graduation and earned my teaching certificate for the State of Texas. With my love of writing and photography like an elephant the room, I continued to write on a personal basis through my personal blog threeboys-littlelady.blogspot.com. I taught high school English for seven years, and elementary Special Education for the other six and currently my job today. Through my role as an educator of students with cognitive disabilities, I found my inner desire to help all children reach their full potential, no matter their abilities, income levels, demographic, or cultural background. I started my journey to earning my Master's in Educational Counseling through Lamar University in the Fall of 2015 and will finish in December 2017. I still have student loans from 2002-03 that I have been diligently paying on since earning my B.A. I do not qualify for any financial aid or loan forgiveness programs. I have four children and a husband who is also in public education. Other than being the mother to my children, my life's purpose is to serve our public school children. I feel my role is to guide them and help them realize their full potential in order to lead them to rewarding careers.

- Outside the classroom
I enjoy spending time with my husband and four children. We like to be outside most of the time either playing sports or watching our three sons play baseball and soccer. We also like to travel in our camper trailer to State Parks in Texas and neighboring states. Personally I like to jog, write on my blog, scrapbook, and take pictures of my kids.
