About

I am Whitney Campbell and I am currently a senior at Cookeville High School in Cookeville, Tennessee. I am seeking to go to college to become a child life specialist or a child psychologist. I am not completely sure of which one I want to be, but I do know that I have always loved little kids. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be able to work with children as my career in the future. I know as I pursue this area of study, I will pursue it whole heartedly because children are something I am very passionate about. I want to be able to help make a difference in the upcoming generation. Currently, I am a Sunday school teacher for the two and three year olds at my church, Trinity Assembly, on Sunday mornings during the 8 o’clock service. I attend the 10 o’clock service. Trinity also has me placed on their payroll to provide childcare for special meetings and church functions. I have also had the opportunity to work in the preschool at Cookeville High School by taking Family and Consumer Science classes. I have taken class levels one, two, and three of Child Lifespan and Development. In March 2015, I had the privilege of going on a mission trip to an orphanage in Jocotepec, Jalisco in Mexico. I spent five days serving in La Ola Orphanage for girls. I was one of six that was chosen to actually stay in the orphanage. I would wake up every morning to several little girls staring at me, anxiously waiting for me to get up for bible studies and other activities. It was a very rewarding trip for me to be able to touch the lives of others as they also touched mine. I am still able to keep in contact with the girls by email. I am always open to any opportunity to work with any age children. The more I work with kids, the more sure I become that this is my dream to pursue.
