About
I am a South African currently studying in America as an international student. I made the decision ten years ago to pursue my studies in America so I could attain a rigorous STEM education which encapsulated critical thinking, equality, and the liberal arts. I am pursuing a degree in mathematics mainly for two reasons: first, it is my favorite subject and I love all its idiosyncrasies and analytical attributes and second, I want to become an actuary and use my skills to help my African people. In Africa, many people are uninsured because we have a lack of qualified actuaries (who are not able to effectively quantify risk) and I want to change this by bringing the skills necessary to revolutionize our African insurance industry. I currently attend El Centro College and plan to transfer this fall.
