Goals and interests
- Career goal
In the future I would like to work with all major row crop commodities. By studying and diagnosing diseases that are detrimental to yield, I can use my research to find alternative methods for controlling a particular pathogen that is cost efficient to the growers and also provides the greatest efficacy for managing that disease.
- Graduate school interests
My interest as a graduate student is learning new diseases and how to make an infield diagnosis. Many times a pathogen can have the same or similar types of symptoms and signs. If you are not careful and do not correctly identify the disease this could result in extreme yield losses as well as economical hardships on the growers who applied the wrong control method for the disease.
