Willie Chavira

I am currently an Interior Design major at the University of Oklahoma in Norman Oklahoma. I am a first generation student from the small town of Goldsby Oklahoma where I was raised to work hard to accomplish my dreams. I graduated as a valedictorian from a very small high school in the small town of Washington Oklahoma where I learned to achieve great things. Attending the University of Oklahoma has been a major accomplishment in my life because I am the first person in my family to attend college, but it has also been difficult. Sometimes I feel like the odds are against my, but I will continue to persevere in hope to continue my path to success at the university to accomplish my dreams as well as my family's dreams. I am currently a part of the Hispanic American Student Association (HASA) and First to GO SOONER, but as time progresses I hope to become more involved on campus. My goal is to continuous learn from others as well as from my experiences in hope to someday be a professional in the career field.
