About

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in biblical studies at the school of theology and religious studies at the Catholic University of America (CUA) in Washington, D.C. So far, I have finished my course studies and passed the comprehensive exams. I have completed five out of seven chapters of my dissertation and plan to defend it in May 2022.

In my area, I have published two peer-reviewed articles since I attended CUA: “Two Types of Discipleship: On Matthew 8:18-22,” Missio Dei: A Journal of Missional Theology and Praxis, 10 (Winter-Spring 2019); “A Purely Symbolic Theory on the Chronology in 1 Kings 6:1,” Australian Biblical Review, 67 (2019): 30-47. Two more peer-reviewed articles are coming: “Ben Sira on the Free Will Problem: A Comparison with Chrysippus,” Harvard Theological Review (forthcoming; accepted on Mar 10, 2020); “Posttraumatic Growth, Belief in a Just World, and Ps 137,9,” Biblical Theology Bulletin, 51/3 (2021): 78-87.

During my first year at CUA, I got the scholarship to be a research assistant. From my second year, I got the scholarship of being a teaching assistant for four semesters, one course in each. As a TA, my responsibility was to create quizzes and exams and grade their quizzes, exams, and papers. Occasionally, I gave lectures. From Fall 2020, I got the scholarship to be a teaching fellow. Last semester, I taught one section of Foundations of Theology; this semester, I am teaching two sections of the same course.
