Xinya Zhou

Xinya Zhou was born in Chengdu, China, and she has received good music education since she was a child. She entered the Chengdu teen-age”Yin Xing Art Groups” when she was 7. She studied cello in the middle school of Sichuan Conservatory of Music from 1999-2005. In the year 2009, she got Bachelor’s degree of music in Shanghai Conservatory of Music, laying a good skill foundation and systemic performance training in this period. In 2007, she participated “Young, Euro, Classic” music festival held in Germany on behalf of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In April 2009, she received the offer (before graduating from conservatory) from Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra. When working in Hangzhou, she was involved in a number of special performances and has cooperation with some world’s famous musicians. In 2010, she got both scholarship and teaching-assistantship from Bowling Green State University, USA. and started to study in the cello studio of Dr. Alan Smith in Bowling Green State University for Master of music degree. In 2013, she got full scholarship from University of Cincinnati for her Doctoral degree in Music Performance.
