About

Completed BIOG 1445, BIOG 1350, PAM 2100, CHEM 2070, CHEM 2080, NS 1150, FREN 1230 in freshman year, and completed BIOG 1500, CHEM 3570, NS 3600, FREN 2090, and MATH 1105 in sophomore first semester.
I built foundations in general biology that includes microbiology and nutrition. I took nutrition specific courses where I learned great details about public health and bio-statistics. From chemistry and biology lab courses, I mastered basic lab techniques that include spectrometry, pipetting, microscopy, DNA gel electrophoresis, and analytic skills. I am currently in process of attaining minor degree in French, which is the language I've been studying since high school years. I am also planning on taking law classes in consideration of declaring a secondary minor in law and society.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I’ve always been interested in field of biology, and have been felt passionate about applying my knowledge to help others. I know that I wanted an active career, through which I could go around the world and help others, but I learned that being a doctor was more sedentary job than I assumed. As I was taking courses related to global health and epidemiology, my academic interests have shifted to public medicine. I attended various academic sessions that had guest speakers to talk about their fieldwork or research in different organizations and countries, where I started to imagine myself working in field of public health, working in NGOs, traveling around the world to research for specific cause and effect of phenomena. Currently, one of my goals includes mastery in French, which is the language that is required in many global organizations. I am hoping to pursue either a research or teaching career where I can contribute in promoting global health and seeking for diseases preventions especially for developing nations.

Graduate school interests

I am planning on attending graduate school after my undergraduate years, pursuing a public health degree. However, I intend to seek for internships in public health field in order to familiarize myself with the idea and to know about specifics I want to study in public health. I do not know which graduate school I'd like to apply, but I am considering going to schools either in United States or in England.

Outside the classroom

I've been involved in orchestra as a flutist and piccolo player about five years, including high school and first year in university. I enjoy sports as well- I am a certified sailor, but I am also a swimmer. From time to time, I go for jogging or attend yoga classes.
I like watching movies than reading books, and my favorite film has been Curious Case of Benjamin Button. In my spare time, I draw, dance, or sing and play guitar.
