About

I am from Sendai, Miyagi, Japan which is one of the locations where the world well-known Tsunami disaster happened in 2011. Although I have experienced depression and anxiety, I have gained countless knowledge of living and the greatness of the "normal" life. While the whole city had the limited or no supplies, the disaster made me aware of the fact that I am a part of community and the world itself. For example, many countries provided us support globally, and local people helped each other to stand back up. For that reasons, I would like to work globally by educating the next generation of the world.

<teaching experiences>
I have taught several students over time as a volunteer worker and a non-credit Japanese teacher. I learned English as a second language, so I can relate to myself to the students who learn Japanese as a second language. Through teaching experiences, I have gained communication skill and become able to adjust the way I communicate to culturally different individuals. As well as my personal life, I have learned communication skills and style in my academic life. I have taken communication courses in which my teachers lectured me about the culturally different communication styles, especially about the American style and western culture style.Hence I am looking for a place to apply my skills in the real world in order to make it to the whole new level.

<Honors>
During the overwhelming academic life, I am successfully maintaining the GPA of 3.5 to 4.0. Therefore, I have nominated in the Dean's and President's honor roll list here at the University of Wyoming. Additionally, I have received a competitive scholarship, Kazmarchak-Sikora Scholarship, at the Communication and Journalism Department. Before I transferred to this university, I attended to Western Wyoming Community College. Even though I have work and international club to go to Monday to Friday, I have received the GPA of 3.55 when I graduated.

Goals and interests

Career goal

Although it is not still clear to see what I like to do the most, I have motivation to challenge my current limit by going out of my comfort zone. I like researching and interviewing to write journals. For my future career, I would like to make a meaningful impact in other people's international perspective in order to construct a foundation of a sense of global citizen beyond territory borders.

Graduate school interests

I am searching for a graduate school where I can seek farther education on Communication and Parenting in different countries. I am interested in finding patterns or major style of parenting and how it affects offspring and forms its culture.

Outside the classroom

I like having a conversation with people who do not share the same cultural background as mine. Through my academic life, I have built numerous friendship with individuals from all over the world. I go hiking with them for summer and go snowboarding for winter through which I have widened my perspective.
