About

My name is Yvonne, but I prefer to go by Eve. I graduated from GCU in the spring of 2021 with a Bachelors' degree in Business Administration. My original plan was to follow that by enrolling at Trinity Law School where I was accepted to pursue a juris doctorate degree. However, God had other plans. A position with my local community college sort of fell in my lap at the beginning of 2022 so, my life has taken a slightly different turn. I am now eager to complete a Masters degree in Criminal Justice (this is my last course!) and begin a teaching position in January with my current employer in a nearby prison, to be followed by continuing my path toward a juris doctorate. I have also recently become a commissioned Notary Public in California and submitted a contract proposal to become the director of my local county-owned animal shelter. My long-term goal is to open a non-profit legal services clinic in my economically depressed community.
I am a grateful wife and biological mother of three (ages 35, 30, and 19), adoptive mother of 2 (ages 27 & 22),biological grandmother of 5 (ages 14, 12, 11, 10, and 8) and, step-grandmother of 3 (ages 21, 17, & 15); I have applied for guardianship of my 12 year-old grandson. I lead worship at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church where my husband is a deacon and my youngest daughter handles the nursery. The three of us and my grandson live on a small ranch in the middle of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California that our daughter officially manages while her dad and I are away at work. My daughter has added a small guinea pig rescue operation to the household so, our total animal count at the moment is 37. She has also taken over the duties of homeschool supervisor of my grandson, begins college this fall, and works part-time at the animal shelter. (Someone might think I am a proud mother!)
I am my area’s Marine Toys for Tots Coordinator and am currently getting started on 14th season. I am also the adjutant and finance officer for my local American Legion post. When not busy with work, school, or my volunteer positions, I enjoy fostering shelter animals, riding my mule, and working on DIY projects around our property.

Goals and interests

Career goal

Beginning in January 2024, I plan to teach Criminal Justice courses at the Tehachapi State Prison. Inmate education programs reduce recidivism. In May 2024, I plan to take over full operations of my local animal shelter. In August 2024, I will begin law school in pursuit of a juris doctorate degree. My ultimate goal is to open a non-profit legal services center in my economically depressed rural community.
