About
I am a dedicated historian and public history professional with a Master of Arts in History from Utah State University (2025) and dual Bachelor's degrees in History and Philosophy from Georgia Southern University (2021). My academic and professional work centers on African American studies, with particular expertise in Black women's history, slavery, medical history, and the intersections of race, gender, and trauma in American history. My interdisciplinary approach involves combining traditional historical methods with public engagement and digital tools. These qualities help position me as an emerging leader in public history and African American studies. My ability to bridge academic research with community engagement makes me well-suited for roles that require both scholarly rigor and public accessibility.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My intended job path is to become an educator and public historian who bridges academic scholarship with community engagement. I aim to establish spaces where historical curiosity can be nurtured and knowledge can flourish, making history accessible to diverse audiences both within and beyond traditional academic settings. My ultimate goal is to serve as a history professor at a well-regarded university, where I can inspire students to pursue their own educational journeys just as my previous professors have inspired me. Through my work in archives, museums, and educational institutions, I seek to create meaningful connections between past and present, ensuring that marginalized voices in American history are not only preserved but actively shared with new generations of learners and community members.
- Graduate school interests
I am pleased to share that I have been accepted into Howard University's PhD program in History, with classes beginning August 11, 2025. This opportunity represents an important step in my academic journey, allowing me to deepen my research in African American history while working with renowned faculty at one of the nation's leading historically Black universities.
- Outside the classroom
My personal interests reflect my commitment to both creative expression and community service. I maintain a regular journaling practice and enjoy creative writing, which complement my academic research and help me process historical narratives. Music plays an important role in my life as I play the clarinet and enjoy dancing as forms of artistic expression and stress relief.
Community engagement is central to who I am. I am actively involved in my home church, where I serve as a youth leader and mentor, helping to guide and support young people in their personal and spiritual development. I also believe in the importance of service to others and regularly volunteer my time to assist community and church members who need support.
