Honor Society® Expert FAQ
How do you list campus leadership on a résumé?
List campus leadership on your résumé with the organization, role, dates, and concise bullets describing your responsibilities and contributions. A title is useful context, but the work behind it is stronger evidence.
Describe the responsibility behind the leadership title
For example, a club treasurer might describe maintaining the budget, documenting reimbursements, and presenting spending updates. An event coordinator might explain how they scheduled volunteers or resolved a venue problem. Use verified scope and results; do not attribute the entire organization’s accomplishments to yourself.
Honor Society involvement can fit when you held a real role or completed relevant activities. Distinguish membership from chapter leadership, elected office, and awards. If you were a participant rather than an officer, describe the contribution accurately instead of upgrading the title.
Your next steps
- Confirm the exact role title, organization, and dates.
- Write bullets that show your own decisions and work.
- Connect the example to skills requested by the employer.
