About
I have worked in sales since I was legally old enough to get a full time job at the age of 16. I attended high school and worked at Circuit City, both full-time until graduation throughout my junior and senior year. I never had a day off except during winter and summer break and my 7 days of vacation time. I worked months in a row while going to school, working, or (most of the time) both without a single day off. I was driven right out the gates. I continued to work the first year after highschool to save for college. I attended Northern Illinois University, and after 6 semesters held a 3.95 GPA. I was on the Deans list for 7 semesters in a row. I also financed 50% of my education and worked part time every weekend.. I was accepted into NIU's Accounting program. During my enrollment in NIU's Accounting program, the program itself was ranked as one of the top ten schools nationwide among all undergraduate accounting programs. I was an active member in Beta Alpha Phi, the National Accounting Fraternity, and received the most internship offers of my class of those admitted into NIU's Accountancy Internship Program. I received 9 offers including KPMG, Delloit, and Earnst & Young for the Spring semester alone. I decided however to go with a mid-sized firm. It was great to have that real world experience. I was treated as and had the same responsibilities as a first year employee, and held to the same performance expectations. After 10 weeks of working 60+ hours as an external auditor, I decided that accounting was not for me. I switched to the Business Marketing Program and graduated in 2 semesters. I was accepted into Northern Illinois' Masters in Business Administration program and my first semester will begin this Summer, 2015. My concentration will be in OMIS, and will take the required courses to earn my Management Information Systems Certificate as my electives. I learned to thoroughly enjoy school after the first 2 years of prerequisite classes when I began taking courses in areas that I enjoyed. I am very excited to begin my Master's Program and continue my education and career path to open many doors with endless poss abilities.
