About

Hi, I'm Hiromasa Kamezawa, first year in Ph.D course in Georgia Institute of Technology. My major is Aerospace Engineering. I lived in Japan for more than 20 years and got my bachelor aerospace engineering degree in the University of Tokyo. I came to the United States to pursue my dream to contribute a manned space exploration because here, the United States is the center of the human space exploration.

Education

  • University of Tokyo

    Aerospace Engineering

    2011 – 2015

Honors and awards

  • Best Eleven Players in 2nd division Kanto University Hockey League Fall 2014

I was selected to be Best Eleven Players out of about 160 players

Goals and interests

Career goal

My final career goal is to contribute a future human space exploration as an astronaut.
At the same time I'm thinking of doing the same thing as an aerospace engineer. Because of that, I'm now studying aerospace engineering and seeking an engineering job which is related with the manned space exploration such as jobs in NASA and SpaceX. Specifically my speciality is an analysis of the hypersonic flow by Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD). Therefore I am very interested in CFD related jobs which requires me to perform an aerodynamics analysis by my knowledge.

Graduate school interests

My interest in the graduate school is to acquire essential skills and to do researches which can be related to the future human exploration.
Now I'm doing a aerodynamic research about Hypersonic Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator(HIAD) by performing CFD computations. HIAD is a new type of reentry capsule to Mars surface for the future manned Mars mission. Therefore I want to continue the aerodynamics research about HIAD during my graduate school term since this topic is excellent fit for me in that it has the research for the future human exploration by CFD.

Outside the classroom

I had been belonged to the university's field hockey team for four years when I was an undergrad. My first sport interest is hockey.
In addition I love running for a long distance. When I was high and junior high school student I belonged to track and field teams. I participated competitions and won first prizes in local ones.
