About

As a student at Texas A&M-Commerce, I am dedicated and devoted to my education in order to gain the knowledge and experience needed to be successful in my field. I have taken an interest in psychology after witnessing the devastating effects of depression and anxiety in my own family and friends. This personal experience has directly exposed me to the symptoms of neurosis, which has motivated me to assist others suffering from the same condition. While I am determined to give appropriate and efficient care to my clients in clinical practice, I also have a strong desire to write on the subject and attempt to explain the condition in further detail. This dedication to the general public has provided me with a profound purpose and meaning in life, which has given me the determination to help others and eradicate the debilitating effects of anxiety and depression.

Goals and interests

Career goal

After graduating with my Masters degree in clinical psychology, I intend to pursue a Ph. D. in English literature to teach at the college level, or continue my endeavors as a clinical psychologist and treat patients seeking counsel for symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Graduate school interests

My interests in grad school include the areas associated with abnormal psychology and applied theories of personality. Often in my spare time I write extensively on the subject, including the aspects of cognitive dysfunction, maladaptive behaviors, and specific phobias. I also have a keen interest and deep regard for Western philosophy and the foundations of many clinical psychotherapies in practice today.

Outside the classroom

My hobbies include writing poetry, philosophy, and historical fiction, as well as, creating contemporary modern art on wood or canvas.
