About

I am studying physics at the University of Oklahoma, and currently interested in unconventional system related to superconductivity. My aim is having knowledge of quantum field theory or topological states of matter to study topological superconductors. I studied at Korea University for my bachelor degree, and have experience of private tutoring in Korea. My hobbies are solving puzzles and playing party games.

Graduate school interests

Quantum mechanics brought significant advances in physics. It has shown how to understand atomic states, behaviors of various particles, and properties of materials. However, some properties were so strange, which took a long time and needed efforts of many scientists. One of those properties was Superconductivity. Some materials have some special electrical properties when cooled below a critical temperature. The major phenomena are zero electrical resistance and expulsion of magnetic fields. Many models have developed since the first superconductor was found, but the BCS theory which was proposed in 1957 by Bardeen, Cooper and Schrieffer has been recognized as the best microscopic theory for conventional superconductor. I am currently interested in topological superconductors. Those are one of examples of unconventional system related to superconductivity. I am studying the concept of solid state physics and second quantization to make foundation for those researches. And my aim is having knowledge of quantum field theory or topological states of matter to study topological superconductors.

Outside the classroom

I love to solve tricks such as puzzles and riddles. It always makes me excited to find answers of the tricks. I also love to compete with others using my intelligence or physical skills. So I like playing party games, computer games, and basketball.
