About
I received a B.S in Biochemistry in the Spring of 2015 and have since been working as a lab technologist in association with the BioXFEL group, a National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center. This fall, I am beginning my Ph. D in biochemistry program at Arizona State University where I will be studying structural biology and drug discovery.

Honors and awards
-
Presidents Scholarship
Honors scholarship given for outstanding academic performance
-
Einstein Award for best physical properties for poster
Biodesign Fusion 2016 where more than 50 posters and presentations were highlighted. The purpose of this event was to show the research accomplished over the last year at the research institute
Goals and interests
- Career goal
After my doctorate, I would love to continue in academia and become a professor at a University. However, I realize that my graduate training will open doors for me in pharmaceutical and other fields and I am open to exploring these options alongside academia.
- Graduate school interests
I am interested in structural discovery of G- Coupled Protein Receptors in biology and discovering how these receptors function through such techniques as x-ray crystallography or cryo-electron microscopy. Long term, this research could lead to drug discovery and therapeutics in a variety of illnesses, including some cancers. My research would hopefully result in bettering the quality of life for patients of various diseases.
- Outside the classroom
I enjoy spending time outdoors doing activities such as hiking or swimming. I play on city football and softball leagues in my spare time as well. With the remainder of free time that I have left, I record music and occasionally perform at various places around town.
