I was accepted to attend Cedarville University this fall of 2016. I plan to major in Criminal Justice and become a police officer when I graduate in 2020. I grew up in Columbus, Ohio. There is one important reason why I would like to become a police officer. When I was just three days shy of four years old, my brother, my mother, and I were in a car accident. A police officer pulled out in front of my mom and she had to swerve into oncoming traffic to avoid the collision. Unfortunately we were hit by the oncoming traffic and the three of us almost lost our lives. My younger brother broke his femur and I broke my tibia fibula. My mother and I were both unconscious. The officer drove away. The reason I want to become a police officer is because I want to protect families from situations like this. I now have two more brothers and my dad is my best friend. To know that someone could lose all of that because of an irresponsible officer is sad and scary. I want to be the officer that saves a family from this horror. That is why I am going to attend Cedarville and get the education I need to be better equipped to do my job and change lives.
