My story started when I made it into George Mason University. I came from out of state and lived on campus my freshman year. I Started my career in the Masters Accelerated Program for Biology and taking 18 credits a semester here has been absolutely challenging and unforgettable. Even the lively hood of dorm-life was revolutionizing. I've made it to my sophomore year, but some things have changed. I now rent a nice basement while continuing to be a full time student. In so many ways my transition to independence has been easy. In many ways my life events have not always been so easy though. I graduated from a small high school with 80 other students. Following that summer, my parents got divorced. I had been dreaming of colleges my whole senior year.. and I nearly lost my dream. The financial status of the divorce had hit before it even happened. I was not able to take any AP exams to receive college credit for the 3 classes I took my senior year. I managed to graduate in the top 25th percentile of my class in the National Honor Society. I have a younger sister and brother. To them I am not just a role model, but proof that big things can happen! My mom, a single mother, has been the magic to our dreams. Though things have been getting tougher. I am raising money not just to fund my dream, but my families too. Thank you to all who made it this far in the story!
