Toby Haas

My name is Toby Haas and I am currently a junior at East Carolina University. I am pursuing a double major in history and German. I currently hold a 4.0 grade point average. I have been a history enthusiast for most of my life, and have been particularly fascinated with military history. I love reading about military history, especially the development of small arms. I have my own collection of antique firearms, with the oldest rifle in my collection being almost 102 years old. This rifle also remains in firing condition. My ancestors came from Germany to the present day United States in the 1740's. Ever since learning of their journey to the United States, I have been determined to become fluent in German. I completed two years (four semesters) of German in high school, and traveled to Germany in high school through the German American Partnership Program for one month. I am currently majoring in German, and plan to study abroad during the summer of 2019.
