After getting 47 credits at Craven Community College in New Bern, NC for Vocal Music Education, I dropped out and joined the Army. As soon as my contract was up in January of 2017, I began to look at classes at Paris Junior College in Paris, TX. However, classes had already started, and I was told that I had to wait until Fall2017 to sign up for any classes because they needed my transcripts from my former college so that I wouldn't have to worry about starting all over. After graduating in May of 2018, I applied to Texas A&M University at Commerce, where I was accepted. Even though I have an Associates Degree in Vocal Music Education, I did not make the cut at my audition for the Music program at Commerce. I had already been studying history as well because that was always my backup plan. I am, now closer than ever to finishing up my degree in History with a concentration in teaching grades 7 to 12.
