About
I am a graduate student in the Marriage and Family Counseling program at Lamar University and I currently hold an MBA from the University of Houston-Victoria. Upon graduating with my Masters of Education, I will pursue a Marriage and Family Therapist licensure as well as a Professional Counselor licensure. Additionally, I plan to pursue my PhD in psychology. After working in a career of Human Resources for the last ten years, I have chosen to follow my passion of advocating for spreading awareness of mental wellness in the African American community as well as reduce stigma associated with mental/behavioral disorders. Outside of academics, I devote my time as the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for ELITE Girls Mentoring and training as an advocate for women, children, adolescents, and men who are survivors of domestic abuse and assault. I am also an avid reader and fiction writer with two self-publish novels.
