About

My name is Lindsey Nichols and I am a volunteer EMT/ Firefighter with the Raymond Fire Department, in Raymond, WA. I have a keen interest and passion for the medical field. My curiosity derived from watching my father become a Firefighter/ EMT. The way that a second, minute, or hour can have such an impact, on not only the patients but also the first responders lives is truly life changing. Each time I put on a uniform or head to a call, it gives me such joy. It’s truly where I am the happiest, and where I feel most at home. When I first started out, I thought, “Ooh this is so cool. I could totally do this”, but now it's the fuel to my fire. I eat, sleep, and breathe EMS and I am so thankful for the opportunities I’ve been given. I love being able to continue to learn and grow and experience something new each day.
Due to my extreme passion, I have decided to take my education further and become a paramedic. I am extremely excited to know that there is a new program opening up at Grays Harbor College and that I could have the opportunity to follow my dreams. I have taken all my prerequisites for school and now I am waiting until the program opens so I can apply. After earning my degree, I want to give back to my community and earn a spot at my local fire department. I have the strongest desire to become the best version of myself, and I believe that becoming a paramedic would get me there.
