About (Summary)

Hello! My teaching career started in the following way: I was actually a teacher of English as a Foreign and Second Language (EFL/ESL). I have been teaching since 1998 and have taught at over 30 colleges, universities, and private schools, and actually started the first 5 years teaching English. During that time, I shifted over from teaching English to teaching Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, and various other subjects. I have designed and taught courses for various nursing colleges. I became a senior instructor, a teacher-trainer, and a motivational speaker of diversity, motivational techniques, leadership, teamwork, conflict resolution, reward systems, and other business, psychological and sociological topics. I completed a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership through Waldorf University in November 2020. I am working on my Doctorate in Strategic Leadership (DSL) through Southeastern University as of August of 2020. I hope to graduate in December 2024. My doctoral research focuses on the way we can improve the federal government and heal the division and to make sure current/future generations are treasured. I am a lifelong student! I have two EFL/ESL teaching certificates, one of which is through a Cambridge University affiliate. I hold a Master’s in Sociology from New Mexico State University, a Master’s in Psychology and Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution from Golden Gate University of San Francisco, have done graduate work at the University of Miami (FL), and hold a Bachelor’s in Sociology, along with minors in psychology, Spanish, chemistry, and biology from Indiana University of Bloomington. I have also completed various certificates- One was through the University of California at Berkeley and one was through the Dale Carnegie Institute. I was a premed student, have interned at 2 emergency rooms, shadowed a plastic surgeon, and even worked in my parents’ medical offices, prior to starting my university studies. While gaining my medical experiences, I have been developing my psychological background and sociological experiences. I helped to raise money for student government for children’s cancer wards. At the Riley’s Children’s Hospital, we raised $8500. I also helped at a battered women’s shelter. I interned there for a summer. I also worked in the nutrition sales field as a mind-body wellness expert. I studied and stayed in four different countries (Costa Rica, India, Spain, and Brazil) and traveled to 25 others. Most recently, I traveled to Russia and the Ukraine. Those experiences as much as my educational experiences, have done a lot. I have worked with a variety of professionals in the educational, professional, international, volunteer, and social worlds. I have had military students, police officers as students, the unemployed, CEOs, medical professionals, and many others. I have also conducted workshops, management training workshops, and have assisted as a volunteer on several occasions. I have also conducted workshops, management training workshops, and attended motivational workshops where I volunteered and assisted famous, motivational speakers such as Brian Tracy, Warren Greshes, Jack Canfield, and a few others in product sales, etc., through SeminarsonDVD/Yes Seminars by invitation of the company’s president. Just getting the inner-workings of the seminar world, has made a huge, huge difference, in my life and the lives of others. What’s incredible is that you are studying those people’s work, 2 years, prior to your meeting them. I was grateful to Mr. Jeffreys and his staff for that and still am. I also attended psychic conventions. I am interested in past-lives, hypnotherapy, and on 8 different occasions, I worked with a past-life regression’s expert. I also interviewed psychics, authors engaged in hypnotherapy, and I also have been interviewed on these subjects through Paul Mountjoy and the Washington Times. I also belonged to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator group in Cincinnati and worked with the MBTI personality typology within the meetings. I also coached the Mayor of Cincinnati. I also am going to credit my volunteer work at the motivational seminars to my helping him. Besides teaching, coaching, speaking, civic duties, and writing, those are my other loves. In 2015, I was able to teach at a performing arts school and those students were getting ready to tour the world. Those students were very exciting. It is amazing to blend everything I have done in relation to my teaching. Having danced on a ship in Hawaii, having trained in vocals, having been in bands, having played guitar, having played the piano, and having acted in college, you can relate to the students in some way. I tell you, I have learned more from the students more than they have from me. We are going to have a great job in this course. We are going to go on a journey. Not only are you learning, but I am learning. I have been to Texas a few times and I still want to visit a few cities including Austin, San Antonio, and various other places! At this point in my life, relationships, experiences, students, family, friends, social community, making a difference in the world, health & wellness, spirituality, all these things are very, very important. I just am grateful for all the blessings in my life and I am looking forward to learn from and networking with others of you through the Honor Society. I would also like to return to law school and earn a Masters of Legal Studies (MLS) through American University- Washington. I would also love to earn a M.B.A. with a Criminal Justice emphasis through Northcentral University. I also may earn a M.B.A. in Creative Leadership through National University. In addition, I will take a Women in Leadership course through Yale University and attend a series of leadership/civil rights workshops through Stanford University starting in the Spring of 2023 to round out my education. Best wishes, Sanjay D. Grad School Interests

In graduate school, I delivered a presentation on cognitive-behavioral interventions to my counseling peers and participated in an organizational consulting project for my psychology graduate program. I also wrote a paper in sociology that compared-and-contrasted slavery in Brazil vs. the U.S. Currently, I am interested in creating a "360-model" that helps with addiction removal, character building, ethical training, and more, in order to prepare students in an interdisciplinary fashion for federal agencies and for government legal routes. I am interested in exploring the roles of investigation, the legal process in the courtroom, and blending theory throughout. I am in a Doctoral Program for Strategic Leadership (DSL) and am interested in studying the FBI-U.S. Attorney framework as a guide that could then be applied for other agencies. I also am interested in civil rights for various groups and want to make sure that society is equitable. How do we take the federal, "gold-standard", guidelines and share them with local, state, and other agencies, so that everything is more seamless in education, community-service, and other arenas? I want to study the domestic and international aspects of federal agencies and see how their investigative priorities might differ and find ways to meet the needs in the classroom. I want to work on creating more exciting curriculum, with experiential, case-based scenarios, that can attract students for various honor programs and make them more attractive and competitive when they leave school. The advanced training they will receive in the federal or legal routes will take them to another-level, yet I want them to be as ready as possible for when they are handed off. I am also working on ways to expand the roles of the Vice-Presidency and to find ways to preserve the American heritage (historic homes), as well as, find ways to preserve the art/cultural forms for current and future generations.

Intended Job Path

Most recently, I was an Assistant Professor at Southside Virginia Community College (January 2019-August 2022). I currently adjunct at various other institutions. I also have worked on curriculum design, led faculty trainings, spoke online for publishing events, and more. I have done some media work, too. I want to move forward in that regard. I am entering into politics, while teaching across a range of social science courses.
