About

My name is Emmalyn Mitchell. I graduated from Fannin County High School in Blue Ridge, Georgia in May of 2021. I will be attending the University of North Georgia in the fall of 2021. I am studying to become a graphic design business owner. I grew up in Blue Ridge, Georgia where my mom was an elementary school teacher and my dad was a pastor. I have deep roots in Blue Ridge as there are records of the vast majority of my family living in Blue Ridge from up to six generations before myself. Throughout the years, I have learned a large amount about my Blue Ridge including the fact that businesses can not always get the materials and advertisement resources they need in our small town. From the time I was young, I knew that whatever path I chose to pursue, I wanted to work in Blue Ridge to contribute to my small town and make it more business and entrepreneur friendly. Since deciding to purse graphic design, my goal is to return to Blue Ridge after college, open a graphic design and advertisement company, and provide good-quality graphic design and advertisement material to local businesses.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I intend to purse a major in graphic design and a minor in either business or marketing and open a graphic design and advertisement company in my home town of Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Graduate school interests

After I receive my bachelors degree, I intend on getting my masters in Graphic Design.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy playing several instruments including acoustic guitar, piano, electric guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, and banjo as well as sing. I played softball from the time I was 3 years old until I graduated high school in May of 2021. I have played tennis since I was in third grade and also played throughout until I graduated high school. I still play tennis with my family and friends, but I don't play organized tennis anymore. I enjoy leading worship in my youth group at The Ridge Community Church as well. I enjoy practicing graphic design work and advertisement design as a hobby. I also enjoy photography, photo manipulation, videography, and video editing.
