Ogechukwu Obi

I am currently a Masters of Social Work student at Stephen F.Austin State University in Nacogdoches Texas.I will be graduating in August 2014.Currently I am doing my field placement with the Burke Center in Lufkin, Texas; through out this position I supervise personnel to achieve service, clinical and financial objectives within general resources to patients. The experience has helped me develop a sound knowledge of social work theories. Through my practical placement at Adult Protective services in Beaumont, Texas it helped me developed knowledge further by providing insight into the range of client needs, and an understanding of caseload prioritization in a high demand environment. I responded to a wide variety of social assistance needs, where I demonstrated skills in problem solving, assessment, and advocacy and also had the opportunity to build effective working relationship with other community organizations and staff.
My clinical skills are combined with passion, working with people, ability to meet the people (s) unique needs by gaining an in-depth understanding of their circumstances, problems and requirements. I have a good communication skills, ability to relate well to people of all ages and backgrounds and apply informed and thorough approaches in all the work been deliver.
