Matt Perri

Since I was young my goal has always been to play at the collegiate level. I know that playing baseball in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that requires a lot of hard work, and many long nights. I have never been one to shy away from hard work or tough times.

I am a team leader and try to lead by example through my actions and the way I carry myself both on and off the field. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players you’ll find. I started all four years of my high school career at the varsity level, while also keeping my grades in check. In my first year as a collegiate player I was able to recover from a labrum surgery and make an impact on the team, earning me a starting position behind the plate.

In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I also volunteer at local youth baseball camps, and with the volunteer fire service in my home town of East Rockaway, NY.

I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the field. One thing that I find to be non negotiable is a good team atmosphere where guys can come together as one, creating lifelong friendships and memories. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all peers and make my parents proud
